The Role of Sujit Choudhry in Championing Comparative Constitutional Law

Sujit Choudhry is known for his role in championing comparative constitutional law. He is the founder of the Center for Constitutional Transitions, an organization that focuses on assembling experts from around the globe to produce evidence-based policies for decision makers and agenda setting. The position does not come easy because it requires an individual to have many law degrees, multicultural mindset and several years of experience while serving as a constitutional advisor for emerging democracies. Sujit Choudhry has traveled across the globe to forge constitutions in some of the most ethnically divided societies where he conceived the idea of establishing a global knowledge network with the aim of helping these constitutional democracies.

Sujit realized that there was the lack of sufficient research when implementing these constitutions, which hampered his constitutional advice. He then established the Center for Constitutional Transitions with the primary focus of filling this gap. Sujit Choudhry has been brought up in a multi-cultural environment. He graduated with several degrees from three different countries, which have inspired him to change his point of view on public policy.
